Solvay Elementary Kindergarten Classes Visit St. Camillus!
Residents, patients and staff members at The Centers at St. Camillus were all smiles on Tuesday, June 19 as two classes of kindergarten students from Solvay Elementary School visited to “entertain the troops!” They sang several patriotic songs throughout the facility and even performed one number with sign language. Each child wore a shirt displaying their own artwork, a hand-painted version of the American Flag. One St. Camillus resident, a Veteran, said, “I just love this! These kids right here, this is who we fought for.”
Special thanks to the students and their teachers Mrs. Lori Reale and Tammy Hastings, and all the faculty, parents and families at Solvay Elementary School for honoring St. Camillus residents with their visit and through their music.
Check out our newest photo album of highlights from our successful, truly fun and enjoyable 2018 Celebration of Service to benefit St. Camillus honoring Shirley Cruickshank, the Syracuse Auto Dealers Association (S.A.D.A.) and Michael J. Byrne.
Congrats to our inspirational honorees and a big thank you to our sponsors, attendees and other donors!
46 Years of Service is a lot to Celebrate!
Patty Bova, or “Bova” as she is better known, is retiring on Friday, February 5. After 46 years of dedicated service, she is hanging up her apron. A valued member of the Maintenance Crew, Bova has repaired more wheelchairs than we can count. As one of our longest employed team members, she is fixture at St. Camillus.
Ask anyone who knows her, and they’ll tell you that she does NOT like being the center of attention, which is why Bova’s supervisor, David Castaldo (Director of Maintenance), along with help from many of Bova’s co-workers, planned a surprise party.
Bova will be missed by our staff, patients, and residents. We wish her unlimited health and happiness in her retirement!
