Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program

Certified by the State of New York, our comprehensive program provides treatment for people with moderate to severe brain injury who are medically stable and have rehabilitation potential. Our 20-bed inpatient skilled-nursing unit is designed, equipped and staffed specifically for the unique needs of people with brain injury. Through an interdisciplinary team approach, a highly- focused plan of care is developed for each individual. In every instance, the goal is to restore the individual in our care to the highest possible level of independence. Click here for more information.

Continuing Care Program

With 230 Continuing Care Program beds, St. Camillus is one of the most respected skilled nursing facilities in central New York. Under the Continuing Care Program "umbrella" is Continuing Care Rehab and Nursing Rehab. Working closely together, staff from each program are able to effectively meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of our continuing care residents.

The Continuing Care Program encompasses all activities of our 230 beds on B-Unit, C-Unit, D-Unit, 2nd Floor (except Brain Injury) and 3rd Floor. This includes nursing, medical, rehabilitation, nutrition/food service, activities, social work and other services that help keep our residents healthy and functioning to their highest abilities, and in some cases even allow them to return to the community.

Our dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour nursing services in a comfortable, caring environment. Consideration for the individual is paramount as the medical, social, nutritional and spiritual needs of residents are met on a daily basis. Privacy is respected, though interaction is encouraged, as a variety of activities are available to residents seven days a week.

The goal of Continuing Care is to improve and maintain resident wellness, functioning and quality of life.

For those requiring rehabilitation services due to injury, stroke or orthopedic conditions:
Continuing Care Rehab provides restorative rehabilitation activities as needed by therapists in our Building 2 Continuing Care Rehab gym. Nursing Rehab provides ambulation, exercises and range-of-motion activities as needed by CNA rehab aides on the residents' units.

Psychological Services

Psychological assessment and treatment is available at St. Camillus in conjunction with other therapies or for specific diagnoses. Treatment by consulting psychologists typically entails formulating behavior management programs and other interventions for issues of behavior or emotional adjustment.

RehabPath Subacute Rehabilitation Program

After undergoing surgery or other initial treatments, some patients find themselves needing brief inpatient rehabilitation before returning home to live independently again. Fortunately, St. Camillus offers such a program to help "bridge the gap" between hospital and home. The RehabPath Subacute Rehabilitation Program is the hospital-to-home connection. It provides comprehensive, short-term inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation that effectively prepares individuals to return home after a hospital stay. For inpatients, individuals receive all the care they need - everything from therapies to nursing - to make a quick recovery. Click here for more information.
